Kickoff of the Mount Horeb Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan Update Process and Survey

The Village of Mount Horeb is beginning its five-year update of village’s Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan. This includes all village-owned and maintained parks, natural areas, recreational programming opportunities, and trails. The planning process will take place over the next six months with a goal of adoption in late fall 2020.

This plan is the guiding document for the Mount Horeb Parks System and Recreation Department over the next five-years. The process will focus on gathering public input, reassessing priorities and recommendations, and developing a new set of action items to be pursued.

As part of the kickoff of the project, village leaders invite any resident or visitor of Mount Horeb to participate in a village-wide Parks Survey. The survey will help evaluate existing preferences and participation rates, in addition to guiding future priorities, needs, and projects. It is critically important to gather as much feedback as possible in order to develop a plan that best fits the community’s needs and preferences. The survey is open from Friday, April 10 to Friday, May 8.
