IMPORTANT NOTICE: Fraudulent invoices using the Mount Horeb Village logo

The Village of Mount Horeb has been notified of fraudulent invoices using the Mount Horeb Village logo. Two applicants for items at Plan Commission have received fraudulent invoices claiming to be from the Village of Mount Horeb Plan Commission. The invoices use a copy of the Village logo that has likely been copied from our website and requests payment via wire transfer. The fake invoices use applicant information pulled from the Plan Commission application and lists fake charges and fees. The second page of the invoice lists remittance instructions requesting payment via wire transfer and asking you to email them for instructions, and says it is authorized by the Village of Mount Horeb Planning Commission. The Village of Mount Horeb will never request payment via wire transfer and will not have you email us for wire transfer instructions. If you received one of these invoices and would like to report it, please contact the local police department or sheriff’s office with jurisdiction over your residence or place of business.
